PDO THREAD LIFT is an amazing and effective treatment that helps to lift sagging skin and tighten the skin through collagen production. This treatment involves the deposit of absorbable polydioxanone threads (similar to the threads used in surgery for sutures) just beneath the surface of the skin. The threads naturally dissolve over a period of 6-8 months and induce the production of collagen and elastin in the areas around them. This leads to a longer lasting effect even once the threads are gone.

The most common areas to be treated are:

  • The eye brows (Fox Eye)

  • Mid face lift

  • Jawline and jowl lift

  • Neck lift

One Week Before Your PDO Thread Lift Treatment

  • Avoid alcohol and other alcoholic beverages as well as smoking. This will help to reduce your chances of bruising and increase recovery.

  • Stop taking these supplements: fish oil/krill oil, vitamin E, ginseng, grean tea and other blood thinning agents.

  • Avoid taking any blood thinning medications unless you have been instructed by your doctor. Please let us know if you are currently taking any medications prior to your PDO thread lift.

PDO Thread Lift Post Procedure Care- What To Expect

  • Take the day off. Regular movement is good but avoid any excess movement such as going to the gym or other strenuous activity. Do not do any jumping. Duration for this will be 2 weeks.

  • Your ability to chew may feel different so stick to soft and easily chewable items or smoothies.

  • Following your treatment, the area may feel sore or tender. Over the counter NSAIDs may be used to help reduce any discomfort. Stick to Tylenol or Iburprofen.

  • Most discomfort will fade within the first 24-48 hours. The area may feel "bruised" for up to two weeks after but nothing else.

  • Eat soft foods or drink liquids for 7-10 days after your PDO thread lift treatment.

  • You may lightly wash your face but do not be aggressive. Don’t pull your skin down for 3 weeks following your treatment.

  • Limit facial motion for 24 hours. Limit talking or extreme expression.

  • You may apply ice for 30 minutes, 4-5 times a day, for 5 days.

  • Do not chew gum for 2 weeks. Do not drink through a straw.

  • Do not rub on make-up or facial creams for 48 hours post treatment.

  • Do not massage the face for 3 weeks, especially with a wash cloth when cleansing. Do not pull down on your face.

  • A day or two after surgery, the hair can be washed again using lukewarm water and baby shampoo.

  • Notify the doctor of any severe swelling in the neck or cheek areas or if the pain becomes severe on one side only.
