REGENERATIVE INJECTIONS are designed to reduce pain, increased localized healing and growth, and strengthen the tissue. Using specific solutions such as prolotherapy and PRP, old injuries and damaged tissue can be healed.

 

These types of treatments work on both acute and chronic injuries. Chronic injuries, due to the increased deterioration of the tissue, may take more treatments to help build it back up to its former structure. In any of the treatments, healing occurs first with pain being the last thing to reduce.

 

Pain is a sign that there is something wrong. The body uses it as a signal so we can make changes to the way we walk, run, hold items, or do any number of tasks to allow the body time to heal. Most injuries do heal well but ligaments, tendons, and joints have reduced blood flow and do not heal as fast required. 

PROLOTHERAPY is a regenerative injection with a sugar based solution. Other ingredients such as procaine, methylcobalamin, or mannitol may be combined with the dextrose but it all has the same intended effect.

The dextrose solution has a localized inflammatory effect that draws growth hormone, growth factors, and other healing molecules to the site promoting a healing cascade. This healing cascade will continue over a period a 4-6 weeks.

Treatments are administered 6 weeks apart for optimal results.

PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP) is another regenerative injection that is similar in action to prolotherapy. It differs mostly in the solution being used as it uses platelets drawn from a blood sample.

This treatment has added healing benefits over prolotherapy. It has amplified amounts of growth factors, growth hormones, and healing elements already in the solution. This means that healing begins right away at the targeted site and increased effects.
